Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Hewed handles consumer health data, as Washington's My Health My Data Act, Nevada's consumer health data law and similar state laws define it. It adds to our Privacy Policy. Last updated October 30, 2026.

Consumer health data we collect

  • Your daily readiness check-in (good, OK or rough) and the readiness color Hewed works out from it.
  • If you connect WHOOP: recovery score, heart rate variability, resting heart rate, hours asleep and strain, for the last 8 days.
  • Training records that can reflect your physical condition: lifts, weights, reps, missed sessions and stalled lifts.
  • Your outcome log: your check-in of feel, sleep, energy and soreness on each training day, and how hard each lift felt.
  • If you use the habit plan: goals and check-ins about sleep routine, movement and focus.

We do not collect diagnoses, medications, reproductive or sexual health information, gender-affirming care information, precise location or biometric identifiers.

Why we collect it and how we use it

Only to provide the features you ask for: saving and syncing your log, working out today's weights and readiness, and, if you choose, showing your trainer what you shared. We do not use it for advertising or marketing, sell it, or use it to profile you for anyone else.

Where it comes from

From you, when you log or check in; from WHOOP, only after you connect it and approve access on WHOOP's own page; and from your trainer, when they set a call for your day.

Who we share it with

  • Your trainer, only with your consent, as described above.
  • Processors that run Hewed for us under contract and may use the data only for that: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database) and Resend (account email, which carries no health data).
  • Authorities, only when the law requires it.

We do not sell consumer health data, and we will never do so without the separate written authorization these laws require.

Your rights

You can ask to confirm whether we hold your consumer health data, get a copy of it, see a list of every third party and affiliate we shared it with, withdraw your consent, and have it deleted. Deleting your account in the app does the last of these at once.

To make any other request, email owencrabbe@owencrabbe.com from your account email. We will answer within 45 days. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our answer; we will respond within 45 days, and if you are still not satisfied you can contact your state attorney general.
